Job Centre Protest Mounts

The 9 Labour Councillors for Park & Arbourthorne, Manor Castle and Richmond have added their voices to the protest against the proposed closure of the Eastern Avenue Job Centre.

Councillors see a more expensive and poorer service resulting from the proposed closure and are unhappy with the short consultation period organised by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).

They are calling for additional discussions between the DWP and the Council to achieve real improvements for local residents.

You can read their full submission to the DWP here.
