I have been a councillor for Darnall Ward for 10 years and I have lived here most of my life. I have enjoyed working in all areas of the Ward and meeting local people.
Having worked in community development and regeneration, I understand how councillors can work with different organisations to support residents to get things done and solve local problems. I have also focused on helping individuals with their particular problems.

I have been a member of the Labour Party since 1992 and represented Darnall Ward on the Council since 2003 and feel very privileged to be a candidate again in the 2016 local elections. I came to live in Sheffield in 1981 and worked as a nurse in mental health services in Rotherham. Since my election in 2003 I have promoted youth activities and took an active part in the regeneration of our local parks. Alongside Clive Betts MP I campaigned to ensure we had a new health centre in Darnall and was able to ensure we had accident prevention schemes on our local road.
I have worked with the local Taras and other community organisations to achieve their ambitions for their neighbourhood and local people. I chair a number of local groups including the Darnall Environment Group which works with the large and small organisations to improve our neighbourhoods. I have good relationships within the Ward. I believe that this is essential in these difficult times and believe we have to work together at a local level in order to make best use of the resources still available. My priorities for Darnall remain, health, young people, the environment, training and employment.
Hi I am Zahira Naz your local labour candidate for 2016. I have lived in Tinsley since 1994. I am a community engagement officer at Darnall Forum and I have worked with residents across the ward. I have always been active within the community.
I am passionate about local services for local people, and empowering local people. The work that I have done as a community worker has given me a good understanding of resilience, diversity and expectations across the Darnall Ward.
I hold regular surgeries and walkabouts. I am good listener and will always be available on the phone or a surgery or a home visit.
